Community Guidelines
Guidelines for keeping Tresslog Community safe, supportive, respectful, and helpful for every hair journey.
Our Community Purpose
Tresslog Community exists to help people feel supported in their hair journey. It is a space to share public logs, routines, progress, product experiences, questions, encouragement, and honest learning. The goal is not perfection, comparison, or judgment — it is support, consistency, and shared growth.
Be Kind and Respectful
Treat every community member with kindness and respect. Hair is deeply personal and often connected to identity, health, culture, confidence, and lived experience. Do not shame, mock, insult, harass, bully, or dismiss someone because of their texture, length, density, styling choices, hair loss, protective styles, chemical treatments, or progress.
No Hair Shaming or Texture Discrimination
Tresslog does not tolerate hair shaming, texturism, racism, colorism, or discriminatory comments about natural hair, relaxed hair, locs, wigs, extensions, protective styles, scalp conditions, hair loss, or any hair type. Community content should encourage healthy relationships with hair, not reinforce harmful beauty standards.
Share Honestly
When sharing logs, routines, progress photos, product results, or reviews, please be honest about your experience. Do not post fake transformations, misleading before-and-after photos, false product claims, undisclosed sponsorships, or exaggerated results. What works for one person may not work for everyone, so context matters.
Public Logs and Photos
Only share photos, logs, routines, or personal details that you are comfortable making public. If you post images of another person, you must have their permission. Avoid sharing private information such as addresses, phone numbers, personal documents, children’s identifying information, or sensitive details that could put you or someone else at risk.
Product Recommendations and Reviews
You may share product experiences, routines, and recommendations, but please do so responsibly. Avoid making medical claims, guaranteed growth claims, or statements that a product will work for everyone. If you received a product for free, were paid to promote it, or have a brand relationship, disclose that clearly.
Health, Medical, and Hair Loss Discussions
Community discussions may include topics such as shedding, breakage, scalp concerns, postpartum changes, alopecia, stress, medication-related hair changes, or recovery journeys. Please remember that Tresslog Community is not a substitute for medical, dermatological, or trichology advice. Encourage members to seek qualified professional help when needed.
No Harmful or Unsafe Advice
Do not encourage unsafe practices, including dangerous chemical use, extreme dieting, misuse of medication, harmful scalp treatments, unsafe DIY mixtures, or advice that could cause injury or worsen a condition. Educational sharing is welcome, but harmful guidance may be removed.
Respect Privacy and Boundaries
Do not pressure users to share photos, diagnoses, personal stories, hair history, location, or private details. Do not repost, screenshot, copy, or use another member’s content outside Tresslog without their permission. Respect when someone chooses to keep parts of their journey private.
No Spam, Scams, or Self-Promotion Abuse
Do not use Tresslog Community to spam links, promote scams, repeatedly advertise products, recruit users into unrelated groups, or flood posts with promotional content. Creators, brands, and professionals should contribute meaningfully and transparently rather than using the community only for promotion.
Prohibited Content
Do not post content that is hateful, threatening, sexually explicit, exploitative, violent, illegal, fraudulent, defamatory, or intentionally misleading. Content involving harassment, impersonation, doxxing, malware, phishing, or attempts to manipulate the platform is not allowed.
Reporting and Moderation
If you see content that violates these guidelines, please report it through the available reporting tools or contact Tresslog support. We may review, hide, remove, or restrict content that violates our guidelines or creates risk for users. Repeated or serious violations may result in account restrictions or removal from Community features.
Mistakes and Learning
We understand that people are learning. If a post or comment causes harm, we may ask for edits, remove content, or provide guidance depending on the situation. Our goal is to keep Tresslog Community safe, welcoming, and useful while giving people room to grow.
